Dr. Nandoe Tewarie completed his medical degree cum laude at Leiden University. He completed his neurosurgery training at Neurosurgical Center in Nijmegen (NCC) and did his PhD research at the University of Miami, Baltimore and the Dutch Institute for Neuroscience in Amsterdam. He obtained his PhD in 2010 on the subject of the use of stem cell transplantation in spinal cord injury. He works as a neurosurgeon at Haaglanden Medisch Centrum (HMC) in The Hague and also works at Groene Hart Ziekenhuis in Gouda. His focus areas are brain and spine surgery. He's also involved in scientific research on brain tumors and brain infections. New technological developments like medical 3D printing and computer-controlled navigation have his special interest.
