dr. mr. M.L.D. Broekman

Dr. mr. Broekman completed her medical degree and law degree at Utrecht University, where she also completed her neurosurgery training. She got her PhD at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. She is specialised in brain tumors, with a special focus on awake brain surgeries and surgeries with the use of fluorescence for a better visualisation of the tumor. Besides brain tumors she also performs surgery on patients who suffer brain injury after trauma. Dr. Broekman works at Haaglanden Medisch Centrum (HMC) and at LUMC in Leiden where she's leading the research programme on brain tumors. She collaborates with Harvard Medical School to develop and evaluate new techniques for therapy and diagnosis. Her ultimate goal is to improve the outcomes for patients with brain tumors.
